According to Forbes, wine consumption is
declining among Millennials and Generation Z, who prefer craft beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic alternatives to wine. Wine's historic image, as well as the industry's delayed adaption to modern marketing, have made it less appealing to younger consumers. Economic factors such as school debt and decreasing discretionary incomes make wine less available.

Europe's wine production is experiencing a
significant decline, reaching its lowest level in over 60 years. Adverse weather conditions, including early frost, heavy rainfall, and droughts, are primary contributors to this reduction. Globally, wine production decreased by 7% in 2023 compared to previous years. This production challenge has led to economic pressures within the industry, characterized by falling wine prices and rising production costs. The combination of lower demand and high inventory levels has resulted in decreased prices, while escalating costs for labor, energy, and raw materials have squeezed profit margins for wine producers.

The wine tasting triggers interaction with our brain than any other human behaviour. When sniffing a wine during the tasting, it triggers “retronasal” smell which activates various cells in the nose and tongue. Through this expereince, the wine consumption are onsistenly increasing as the year goes by.
The market is more than $300 billion, and
with growth of 23.9 percent per year. Over the next four years, the market is estimated to be $412.9 billion in 2027.

Impact of Mycelium and Wine Production

Extensive research has shown that mycelium significantly accelerates the wine harvest. By utilizing fungi, labor costs can be reduced while increasing wine production. This innovative approach helps mitigate the effects of global warming
